UCMT Labs user guide

How each screen of the application works in this release, with screenshots taken from it. Signed in, the same guide is in the app under Help.

  1. Getting startedThe screen layout, the account menu, your first causal discovery in five steps, and the privacy question you see on your first visit.
  2. OverviewThe four tiles and two charts on the page you land on after signing in, and what each number is calculated from.
  3. How a causal run worksFrom a CSV file to a causal graph: upload, choose an algorithm, run inline or queued (with progress and cancel), read the graph, reason on it and export it.
  4. Causal inference: Data tabUpload a CSV or JSON file, check it for ID-like columns, create a synthetic sample, and see the datasets and storage your plan allows.
  5. Causal inference: Discovery tabChoose an algorithm and a dataset, run causal discovery, and read the result: summary tiles, the graph, the relationships, the edge table and the metrics.
  6. Causal inference: Reasoning tabReason on a discovered graph: causal paths between two variables, a counterfactual value, scenario comparison, the trust view and the engine's executive decision summary.
  7. Causal inference: XAI tabWhich variables drive one target in the current graph, and in which direction: SHAP values from the dataset's rows when they are available, otherwise a structural attribution from the graph's weights.
  8. Causal inference: Graphs tabEvery graph your organization has saved: open one, download it, delete one, or load it back into the Reasoning tab.
  9. Discovery runsThe list of every causal discovery run in your organization, with filters you can save and a CSV export.
  10. SettingsYour profile, your organization, password reset, the colour theme and API keys.
  11. Privacy and your dataTurn optional tracking on or off, download a copy of your data, or delete your account, and what happens to your data when you do.
  12. Messages and errorsThe messages the app shows when something cannot be done, what each one means and what to do next.
